Pakistan Embassy organizes panel discussion on mitigating adverse impacts of pandemics on humankind

June 29, Kathmandu: The Embassy of Pakistan in collaboration with the Pakistan Study Center on Wednesday organized a panel discussion titled “Socio-Economic Implications of COVID-19 Pandemic in South Asia; Emerging Risks and Strategies for Future”.

The panel discussion was organized in Kathmandu to mark the 75th year of the independence of Pakistan.

Professionals from different walks of life including educationists, politicians, intellectuals, social activists, journalists, writers as well as analysts had attended the talks program.

Topics such as the impact of COVID-19 on the social and economic life of people of South Asia and measures to minimize the overall effects of pandemics for the betterment of society were discussed during the program.  

Talking during the event, panellists highlighted the adverse impact of Covid-19 in the South Asian region and suggested regional and global cooperation to mitigate its effects on the social, economic, and cultural life of the common people.

They lauded the efforts of the Pakistan government in tackling the pandemic in an efficient way.  

Addressing the event, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal Syed Haider Shah welcomed highlighted that pandemic was not an issue of a single country but a global challenge that required regional as well as global efforts to make the world a safer place for the coming generations.
