Kathmandu: The government has withdrawn the Nepali Citizenship Bill 2075 BS.
The government’s decision to withdraw the bill was passed by the majority of lawmakers in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives.
Earlier, Home Minister Bal Krishna presented the proposal to withdraw the bill in the lower house meeting.
Responding to the lawmaker’s queries, Home minister Khand clarified that the citizenship bill was withdrawn to provide citizenship card to Nepali citizens deprived of getting it at the earliest.
However, some parliamentarians objected the government’s decision to withdraw the bill.
